We are delighted that you are interested in SILKROSS events and our services, and we would like to provide you with some key information on our approach to protecting your personal data.

You do not need to provide any personal data to use our website. Data is considered personal data if it can be clearly allocated to a specific natural person.
SILKROSS events and its contracted service providers are obliged to maintain confidentiality and to comply with the provisions of the EU Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other relevant data protection regulations. Other relevant data protection provisions can be found, for example, in the EU Commission’s implementing decision of June 28, 2021, “Decision on the adequate protection of personal data by the United Kingdom”, which encompasses the Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018 with DPPEC Regulations) and the UK GDPR. The interpretation of applicable German law continues to apply as well.

Use and transfer of personal data
Personal data you provide to us over our website or other channels will only be processed if there is a legitimate interest in processing the data; firstly if it is necessary for correspondence with you and, secondly, for the purposes of initiating, defining the content of, establishing or amending a legal relationship with you or for the performance of a contract with you, or if you consent to further processing of your personal data. There will be no automated decision‑making or profiling based on your collected data.
You may revoke your consent to our use of your personal data at any time by simply contacting us.
When we transfer personal data to parties under contract with us, we will limit this data to the information necessary to provide our respective services. The respective contractual partner is only permitted to use this personal data to perform the service we require. Data processing on our web pages
We process information from server log files which your browser communicates to us. These essentially include browser type/version, operating system used, the website accessed on our systems, the referrer URL, the host name and IP address of the accessing computer, the date and time of access, the volume of data accessed and file types. This data will not be consolidated with other data sources, and we do not carry out personalized statistical evaluations on the basis of this data. • The server of our original internet pages is located in Germany. • No cookies are used on our website. • No web analysis tools are used on our website. • No automatically activated plug‑ins from social networks are used on our website. • If you send us an e‑mail or the contact form, it will be stored by us until your enquiry has been dealt with or any legal retention obligations have expired. We ensure that the data is protected against unauthorized access by third parties. • We use SSL/TLS encryption for our website and internet files. • We make every effort to ensure that your personal data is transmitted and saved utilizing technical and organizational measures, in such a way that it is not accessible to third parties.

If no explicit storage period is specified when personal data is collected, we will only process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfill the storage purpose. However, we may continue to store your data for a limited period of time in accordance with legal retention periods. If you do not agree to your personal data being saved or this data becomes inaccurate, we will, at your instruction and within the bounds of applicable legal provisions ensure that your data is corrected, blocked, or deleted.

In the event of a violation of data protection and privacy law, under the GDPR the data subject, meaning the person affected, has the right to lodge a complaint with the responsible data protection supervisory authority, which is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Access to Information in our case. The Commissioner monitors compliance with data protection regulations and the Act on Inspection of Records and Access to Information.
